About Our Medical Directors
Robert F. Mann, M.D., attended Wake Forest College for both undergraduate and medical school. He conducted his medical internship at NC Memorial Hospital and went on to the U.S. Army Medical Corp as Commander of the 57th Field Hospital in Tool, France. Dr. Mann completed his North Carolina Medical Boards and went into general practice for three years in Windsor, North Carolina. He later passed his Virginia Boards in internal medicine and has been practicing since 1970.
Focusing on general internal medicine, chronic illness, and geriatrics, Dr. Mann has been at Harbour Pointe Medical and Rehabilitation Center since 1985 and is the co-Medical Director. He is on the Advisory Board for the City Heath Department as well as the Advisory Board for Heritage Bank. Dr. Mann also works with First Presbyterian Church. He is a member of the Medical Society of Virginia and the Medical Director Association.
When asked what he likes about Kindred, Dr. Mann responded, “I like and admire Kindred, its leadership, and how they operate. They have taught me a lot.”
Thomas A. Grant, M.D., co-Medical Director of Harbour Pointe Medical and Rehabilitation Center, has been with the facility since 1985. He received his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and his graduate degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine with a focus in geriatrics and family practice.
Dr. Grant is the Residency Director at Ghent Family Practice and Chief of Family Medicine at Sentara Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.
